A Pakistani convicted of heroin trafficking was beheaded in the Saudi capital on Sunday, raising to at least 107 the number of executions announced this year in the conservative Muslim kingdom, the interior ministry said.
It said Fadl Rahim Nur Ahmad was arrested as he tried to smuggle in drugs which he had swallowed in bags.
Saudi Arabia applies a strict code of Islamic sharia law, which imposes the death penalty on people found guilty of murder, rape, apostasy, armed robbery, drug trafficking and repeated drug offences -- RIYADH (AFP)
