ALBAWABA - The US has revoked over 6,000 visas from students during 2025 for different reasons, including overstays and various violations of the law, such as “support for terrorism,” Fox News mentioned in its report on Monday.
The approximately 6,000 canceled visas in 2025 so far resulted primarily from visa overstays or legal encounters involving assault, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol or drugs, burglary, or supporting terrorism, the State Department explained.
A senior official argued that every student visa revoked under the Trump administration was over a certain violation of American law or because they expressed support for terrorism.
In addition, about 4,000 visas were revoked, claiming that visitors violated US laws, including assault and DUI records.
On the other hand, 800 students had visas stripped for assault-related incidents, facing either arrest or charges, the official further said.
