Careers UAE 2008, the largest recruitment, training and education event, organised exclusively for UAE nationals, has registered over 31 per cent growth in gross exhibition space to reach 13,200 sq meters, with the number of exhibitors touching 215.

To be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Careers UAE 2008 is hosted by Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) from 15-17 April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Addressing the press conference, Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of DWTC, said: “With each year, we have successfully built on the legacy of the Careers UAE exhibition to empower UAE nationals and help them contribute effectively to the country’s progress.

“With Emiratisation being the prime focus of the economy, Careers UAE 2008 will continue to provide guidance to every talented UAE national aspiring to shape a career. The job fair will also provide critical support to professionals seeking to better their prospects and reach their next career goalpost.”

Careers UAE 2008 will allow young UAE national graduates to gauge employment trends through direct interactions with CEOs and HR managers from the most dynamic companies in varied industry sectors.

In coordination with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, Careers UAE 2008 will host, for the first time, the Young Entrepreneurs Competition. A three-day programme, the initiative will see students from various academic institutions competing to market their products in an intensely challenging environment.

The UAE youth will also receive exposure to a number of specialised training programmes on career advancement techniques. In addition, a series of workshops that are held on the sidelines of the job fair will spotlight employment, recruitment and human resource development issues. Led by professional training managers, the workshops have no fee attached to them and have proved highly popular features at the previous editions of Careers UAE.

Careers UAE 2008 is organised in conjunction with TANMIA, Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP), Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and the UAE University and sponsored by Sorouh, Emaar Properties, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Al Khazna Insurance Company, HSBC Bank and Mashreq Bank.

Open exclusively for UAE nationals and HR practitioners from 10 am to 8 pm daily, Careers UAE 2008 will be held in Halls 1, 2, 3 and Zabeel Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
