Opening of alternative routes for Salam Street in the context of the development and modernization of roads and transportation systems in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Municipality provides the highest standards of integrated infrastructure and boosting development.

In the scope of developing Salam Street and the Eastern Ring Road, new alternative routes are announced, and the partial closure of Salam Street is expected within the next few days, starting from the intersection of Salam Street with Street No. 9 (National Drilling Company/Dubai Islamic Bank) to the intersection of Mina Road.

These steps fall within the framework of the Salam Street improvement project and the Eastern Ring Road, which are in line with the aspirations of the Abu Dhabi Municipality; in developing the city and advancing the economic and social development and its commitment to providing integrated infrastructure at the highest international standards, as well as the development and modernization of the road and transportation systems within Abu Dhabi.

It is advised that drivers coming from the Eastern Ring Road, or driving towards the direction of the Mina to follow the right lane before reaching the intersection that connects Salam Street and the Eastern Ring Road with Falah Street. This is necessary to reach the Abu Dhabi Mall Street and the Tourist Club Area or the use of alternative routes.

People are urged to take the side of caution by driving responsibly. Their full cooperation is required in adhering to the speed limits, respecting traffic regulations, and keeping safety on the roads. At the same time pedestrians are required to use the allocated pedestrian crossings for their own safety.

Salam Street and the Eastern Ring Road improvement project are in response to the urban growth and population increase in the capital as well as establishing Abu Dhabi’s position as a truly modern metropolis on par with the best in the world.
