The OPEC oil-producing cartel will agree by Saturday the size of a production cut, its Algerian president Chakib Khelil said Friday.
"We will have a deal tomorrow morning," he told reporters after an informal meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) broke up.
An OPEC delegate, requesting anonymity, meanwhile said: "We are narrowing our differences" to between 800,000 and 1.2 million barrels per day (bpd).
Earlier, a number of OPEC ministers had indicated that the OPEC ministers had agreed on a cut, but did not give specific figures and said talks would continue.
An analyst said it appeared that OPEC kingpin Saudi Arabia is holding out for a figure lower than the more-than-one million barrels per day (bpd) wanted by certain OPEC members.
The OPEC ministers were due to meet again for a formal session at 6:00 p.m. (1700 GMT) Friday -- VIENNA (AFP)
