One Danish man drowned and another was reported missing on Sunday after a Danish cargo ship sank overnight in the Oslo fjord, the Norwegian news agency NTB reported, citing rescue officials.
Two other crewmembers, both from Poland, were rescued, the agency said.
Two helicopters and several ships searched the area for the missing Dane, but rescue officials were pessimistic about the chances of finding him alive.
"We are pretty sure that the man did not drift or swim ashore. It appears that the missing Dane went down with the ship when it sank," police spokesman Magne Sundby told NTB.
The Gert Hansen ship was transporting salt from Lubeck, Germany, to Oslo when it sank.
The cause of the accident was not yet known, but the weather conditions in the area were reported to be good at the time -- OSLO (AFP) -
