ALBAWABA- A helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in the United States, killing one person. The dramatic moment was captured on video and widely shared across social media, showing the helicopter spiraling out of control and crashing upside down into the water.
All six people aboard the helicopter were confirmed dead after the aircraft flipped and crashed into the Hudson River near Manhattan, according to emergency responders.
Pedestrians nearby were seen rushing toward the riverbank in shock as the wreckage splashed down. Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, but one person onboard was pronounced dead. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
The Hudson River crash is the latest in a troubling pattern of recent aviation tragedies across the United States.
On March 6, a medical Learjet carrying a pediatric patient and five others crashed in Philadelphia, killing everyone on board.
One person on the ground also lost their life, and at least 19 others were injured when the aircraft went down in a residential area.
Just weeks earlier, on January 31, a Jet Rescue Air Ambulance flight—Med Jets Flight 056—crashed shortly after takeoff in the Castor Gardens neighborhood of Philadelphia, claiming all lives on board.
Even more devastating was the January 29 midair collision between American Airlines Flight 5342 and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter over the Potomac River, which resulted in the deaths of all 67 people aboard both aircraft.
