At least one woman died Thursday and several firefighters were injured as a fire swept through a converted hotel here, media reports said.
The woman reportedly panicked and jumped from the fourth floor of the Palomar Hotel in the east Hollywood district, officials told local television stations.
Several other residents were injured in the blaze, which broke out around 3:41 am local time (1041 GMT), officials said.
There was no word as to the cause of the fire, though witnesses reported hearing an explosion before the flames erupted -- LOS ANGELES (AFP)
