A civilian was killed and two policemen were injured after a roadside bomb went off in Kafr al-Sheikh in the Nile Delta on Friday, the interior ministry said.

The ministry said in a statement that the explosion occurred as a police vehicle drove by.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack so far.

Earlier on Friday, six policemen were killed and three others injured after a blast in Giza.

The recently-emerged group calling itself Hasam Movement claimed responsibility for the Giza attack.
