Oman Refreshment Company, the leading beverage establishment in the Sultanate of Oman, recently announced that it has gone live with Oracle E-Business Suite. The company is engaged in the bottling and distribution of carbonated drinks & Aquafina Pure Drinking Water, under license from PepsiCo of the United States, as well as the production and distribution of Top Fruit Juices throughout the Sultanate of Oman. The project has been implemented by Hyperlink, a specialist provider of information technology for business solutions and an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner, who deployed Oracle Financials, Purchase, and Inventory modules for ORC to enhance growth, provide accurate information, enhance financial control and improve budget control.

In the year 2005, Oman Refreshments Company (ORC) sold 15.2 million cases, an increase of 11.2% on their 2004 figure of 13.6m, and is aiming to double its can-filling capacity by 2006 through adding an additional production can line. The company’s continuous ambition for development and growth in respect of volume, market share and turnover prompted ORC to look for an application which could help to reduce administrative expenditure and paper-based processes, and therefore drive cost savings. ORC chose to implement Oracle E-Business Suite to streamline its operations, and to fully integrate and automate its systems. The solution provides a high level of support that will enable the management team to make informed decisions based on real data, delivered quickly and accurately.

“The implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite will enable us greatly in moving our plans forward,” said Mr. Mohamed Harazallah, General Manager for ORC. “The company needed a more sophisticated solution that allowed greater control of the supply chain, more visible production information and improved cost-tracking. The new system had to be able to handle large volumes of data effectively and integrate discrete operations to cut costs and improve productivity.  Hyperlink’s knowledge of this industry, and of Oracle technology, made them the ideal partner for this project, with excellent support throughout all stages of the project. From scoping our business needs to the implementation process, the entire team of consultants was very professional and showed high levels of commitment, punctuality, knowledge transfer and above all meeting deadlines.”

“Being chosen to implement Oracle E-Business solutions at ORC further underlines our continuous commitment to our customers,” said Dani Diab Vice President and General Manager of Hyperlink. “We aim to partners with our customers, sharing and understanding their business needs and challenges to enable us to deliver solutions that best fit their business models. Our team is confident in their knowledge, and we invest in our people to make them experts in everything they deliver.”

“Oman Refreshments Company was looking for a solution that solved its business needs, and a reliable partner to carry out implementation, and Hyperlink provided expertise in Oracle systems and trustworthy consultation,” commented Hisham Esaadi, Telecom Industry Manager, Oracle MEA. “ORC is now poised to maximize its flexibility and speed to market to drive its exponential expansion plans for 2007, with the information the management needs about any aspect of the business, available at their fingertips.”

Phase two of the implementation will include roll out of Oracle’s HR and Payroll solutions to further empower the management team, and streamline the company’s systems. Improving employee productivity is a key element in achieving the stellar growth that the company is planning for its future.
