Member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will meet in Qatar on October 9 to discuss the crisis over feared US attacks on Afghanistan, Pakistan announced on Friday.
Foreign ministry spokesman Riaz Mohamed Khan said the meeting in Doha had been called to address the current situation in wake of the attacks that slammed the US earlier this month, reported the Doha-based Gulf Times newspaper.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar will represent Pakistan, he added.
A number of Islamic countries, including Iran, have called for an urgent OIC meeting for talks on the crisis triggered by the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
The OIC, which groups 57 countries, has condemned the attacks as anathema to all human conventions – Albawaba.com
