U.S. President Barack Obama will host a series of Middle Eastern leaders over the next few months to discuss the Syrian crisis, the White House said on Friday.
According to reports by AFP, Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahayan of the United Arab Emirates will be the president's first guest, arriving April 16, before the leaders of Turkey, Qatar and the UAE meet with Obama.
All four states are staunch supporters of the Syrian opposition and both Jordan and Turkey have provided camps for the mass exodus of refugees fleeing the country.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set for a meeting on May 16, while Jordan’s King Abdullah will arrive April 26.
Obama will meet with Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani on April 23.
