Nuqul Group Partners with Hikmat Road Safety for Better Roads

As part of its continuous efforts to develop the surrounding community and driven by the strong belief in the importance of being an active corporate citizen, Nuqul Group has recently announced its partnership with Hikmat Road Safety initiative launched in cooperation with Greater Amman Municipality and the Traffic Department.
The agreement entails Nuqul Group's adoption of "Al Sherif Naser Bin Jamil Street" located in Shmeisani next to Safeway; the Group's role will focus on improving the road safety measures to reduce the risks of accidents by equipping the road with the right infrastructure.
On this occasion, Mr. Ghassan Nuqul, Vice Chairman of Nuqul Group said: “The Group views Hikmat Road Safety initiative as the platform for unifying efforts with the main objective of road safety across the kingdom, we are glad to contribute to the initiative and we hope to make a difference".
Mr. Nuqul added: “it is unfortunate that Jordan ranks among the top countries in terms of road accidents associated with deaths and injuries, we are proud to be partners in such a noble effort reflecting our true and sincere commitment to our community.”

 

 

Mr. Maher Kaddoura, Founder of Al-Jude / Hikmat Road Safety initiative said: “Since the launch of the program five months ago and through the partnership of the civil society, the government and private businesses such as Nuqul Group we have witnessed considerable improvement and we were able to substantially reduce the number of killed and seriously injured on our roads with the astonishing figure of 34% less fatalities.”
Mr. Kaddoura added” “focused strategy, dedicated team along with our partners formulate the pillars of our successful formula with a promising future geared towards one objective of creating a safe Jordan.”
Nuqul Group is recognized as the partner of Hikmat Road Safety initiative, the initiative was launched by the “Kaddoura” family to address road safety problems in Jordan after the loss of their son Hikmat after being hit by a speeding car in January of 2008. Hikmat Road Safety first achievements was to lead and facilitate national efforts in drafting a comprehensive working strategy that aimed to guide all the national efforts towards the issue.
Hikmat Road Safety believes in “action not talk” and has managed to convey this on the ground by improving the road safety measures outside of 39 schools in different parts of the country in cooperation with the GAM and the Traffic Institute in addition to the different Municipalities and Public Work and Housing Departments outside of Amman.
