There was a substantial drop in the number of road deaths in 2001 compared to 2000, a report from Dubai Traffic Department indicated. The report showed that overall 102 people died and 1,300 were injured in 87 road accidents in Dubai last year.
A senior official at the department said that compared with this, 163 people died in 90 accidents in 2000. Most victims were motorists and pedestrians and ranged between 26 and 35 years in age. (Albawaba.com)
