Nine fighters loyal to Muqtada al-Sadr were killed in fighting with US occuaption troops in the southern city of Karbala early Tuesday, according to witnesses.
Ten Iraqi resistance fighters were also wounded in the clashes, which lasted more than an hour on streets near the city's Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas shrines.
Meanwhile, attackers opened fire Tuesday on two civilian cars believed to be carrying foreigners, killing two and wounding another, witnesses said.
The attack took place in the center of the northern city of Mosul. American troops sealed off the area after the attack, witnesses said. (Albawaba.com)
