The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in conjunction with the Government of Bahrain formally announced the opening of the new RCSI Medical University of Bahrain (MUB), which is set to welcome its first intake of students from the GCC region starting October 2004.
The MUB is targeted at providing medical education to students from within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It is hoped to extend the intake to one hundred as the university develops and opens to applicants from outside the GCC region.
