A New ATR Customer in Egypt

On the occasion of Sharm-El-Sheikh-based Avex 2006 airshow, 7-10 March, Egyptian airline Sun Air today announced that they will soon be commencing its operations with an ATR 72-210 on its regional network.

Cairo-based Sun Air is a private Charter Airline, a joint venture between Orascom, Sun Air and Tunisian Khartago group.

“For us it is a great opportunity to have the support of ATR as it allows us to benefit from the manufacturer’s experience to rapidly achieve European standards of quality. Our aim is to offer our passengers the best experience with us in terms of comfort, safety and reliability. ATR is the perfect match, with its versatility and superior economics. We are committed to the type and plan to increase the fleet and to induct new generation –500 series in the future”, declared Tarek Amer, Chairman of Sun Air.

“ATR is fully supportive of this initiative that allows us to be back to the flourishing Egyptian market. This adds another operator to our large customer-base, now over 120 operators and allows ATR to be present in a market with potential for growth” Filippo Bagnato, CEO of ATR, said.
