ALBAWABA - Tzachi Braverman, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Israel, was arrested by the Israeli police for questioning on Sunday on suspicion of obstructing the investigation into the leaking of sensitive classified documents to foreign media, local media confirmed.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation (Kan) reported: "The head of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, Tzachi Braverman, was arrested for questioning by the Lahav 433 unit on suspicion of obstructing the investigation."

Channel 12 reported that police also searched Braverman's house before his arrest, noting that the investigation concerns "obstruction of justice and breach of trust."

The police revealed in a statement on Sunday, "This morning, a senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office has been detained by Lahav 433 officers on suspicion of obstructing investigative procedures."

In addition, the police summoned Netanyahu's former spokesman, Eli Feldstein, who had previously been arrested in connection with the case, to give his testimony. Police are expected to hold a confrontation between the two, according to Channel 12.
