Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Sunday that Palestinian leadership is "continuing a campaign of ..inciting hatred" against the Jewish people, according to Agence France-Presse.
"The Palestinians are continuing their campaign of inciting hatred, as we have seen in the last few days with their refusal to recognise Israel as a state for the Jewish people," Netanyahu stated Sunday at a weekly cabinet meeting.
The PM's comments follow U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's recent visit to Israel and Palestine to encourage progress forward within the problematic peace negotiations.
"This is the main issue that we're discussing with [Kerry]. Among other key topics are Israel's security, which must remain in its hands," he stated.
Last week's visit represents Kerry's tenth visit to the region since assuming his position with the U.S. Department of State. He has been working with Palestinian and Israeli leadership to broker a peace deal within a nine-month time frame.
Peace talks resumed in July under Kerry's urging after previous rounds of negotiations ended in stalemate three years ago.
