About 30 percent of all Jordanian families own satellite dishes, according to a recent preliminary study released by the Jordanian General Statistics Department.
The head of the department’s labor division told Albawaba.com that the research, which started as a field study last May, included 9,000 families throughout the kingdom.
She said the final report had not yet been prepared.
The study also reveals that 59 percent of all Jordanian families own TV sets, while the figure for radio ownership (17 percent) is 4 percent less than that for VCRs.
About 96 percent of all Jordanian families in the country’s middle region were found to own TV sets, while the ratio reached 92 and 88 percent in the north and south regions, respectively.
The study also reveals that 40 and 27 percent of the families in the middle region own satellite dishes or VCRs, respectively, while 15 and 14 percent of families in the south and north districts own satellite dishes, respectively.
Roughly 10 percent of all families in both areas own VCRs, according to the study -Albawaba.com
