The Lebanese army announced Monday that it had arrested 29 Syrian nationals for illegally crossing into Lebanon.

The military said in a statement that it arrested them as they entered the Lebanese border town of Suweiri, in the Western Bekaa Valley, just south of the Masnaa border crossing.

Lebanon stopped accepting refugees last year, after about 1.5 million Syrians had entered Lebanon to escape their country's war.
