National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the leading bank in Kuwait and the highest rated in the Middle East, has recently received Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Informatics Award for the Best Corporate Website in Kuwait for 2009. The award was received during a special awarding ceremony held at Sheikha Salwa Al-Ahmad's Ballroom under the auspices and in the presence of the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Commenting on this achievement, NBK Board member Ghassan Al-Khalid, who received the award on behalf of NBK said: "It is indeed a source of immense honor and pride for NBK to be named the winner of the highly coveted and prestigious Informatics Award of H.H Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah for the Best Corporate Website in Kuwait this provides testament of the unique and leading position NBK maintains in terms of providing the best world-class electronic banking services to its customers".
“NBK’s website with its unique design, functionality, interactive tools and breadth of online offerings makes the bank closer to its customers and the public as well. NBK's new and enhanced website provides visitors which including NBK customers and the public in general, both locally and regionally with tools and services on the various products and services that the bank provides. In addition to the latest reports, market news, local information and news pertinent to the bank's various activities and functions", Al-Khalid added.
It is worth mentioning that to represent the banks regional footprint, two websites have recently been created; the first website serves the needs of investors, the media and highlights the banks Corporate Social Responsibility. The second website serves the needs of people living in Kuwait; providing information on latest promotions, products and services and important local information. By separating the two sites it makes it easier for our visitors to navigate. We regularly receive over 2 million visitors to our sites a month.
It is interesting to note that the Informatics Award of Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, which was launched in 2001, is, by all means, one of the pioneering initiatives in the field of informatics both locally and regionally. The award is geared towards enhancing the individual as well as the corporate capabilities for further development in the field of informatics.
