nbad conducts 1st annual blood drive in dubai
National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), The Number One Bank in the UAE, in coordination with Al Wasl Hospital, is hosting its Annual Blood Drive in the Northern Emirates on 5th December 2007 at the Al Wasl Hospital in Dubai between 10:00 am and 3:00pm.
During the last three years, the NBAD annual blood drive in Abu Dhabi has proved to be a huge success with blood donations exceeding all expectations, and even more importantly the greatly needed rare blood types were donated in sufficient quantities.
Abdulla MS Abdul Raheem, Senior General Manager and Chief Operating Officer said: “At NBAD, we understand and appreciate the vital importance of blood donation to the community, and realize that giving blood is one of the most important, rewarding and compassionate things a person can do. These are the principle reasons why we support this extraordinary community initiative”.
“As part of our pledge to the UAE community, NBAD is committed to incorporating corporate social responsibility initiatives and programs into our day to day business. We believe that by actively engaging our stakeholders to be more aware of the needs and concerns of the community, we are creating value for NBAD and the society” he added.
NBAD encourages UAE residents to participate in this annual event to replenish this valuable resource. Blood can neither be produced nor manufactured; therefore depleted reserves require that blood supplies be replenished regularly for the benefit of society.
“NBAD remains committed to establishing sound community events and initiatives that encourage awareness of social requirements as well as fostering a sense of responsibility amongst the community and stakeholders. As the first bank in the UAE to have initiated this event three years ago, we are hopeful that other organizations in the UAE will also come forward to support such initiatives in the community.
