British actor Chris Barrie is all set to explore the greatest British machines of the 1960s in 'Britain's Greatest Machines: Revolution by Design,' premiering exclusively on Tuesday 22nd of June at 11:00 p.m UAE & 10:00 p.m KSA on National Geographic Abu Dhabi (NGAD). The episode pays homage to the decade of revolution which honoured Britain's best designers and engineers.

Taking a hands-on approach to history, Chris relives the Monte Carlo rally at the wheel of a Mini Cooper and recreates Sir Ranulph Fiennes' exploration of the Nile by travelling in a hovercraft. Chris also manages to get his hands on some revolutionary trucks, charts the birth of the 'white van man', and investigates the secrets of the iconic Post Office Tower. And lastly, in honour of the launch and raging success of Miss World, Chris organises his own Miss World competition with a twist - using beautiful sports cars from the 1960s.

In the 'Britain's Greatest Machines' series, Chris puts the engineering achievements of each era into the context of the bigger picture of British history, tackling the subject one decade at a time. In this first series, the four episodes tackle the 1930s, 50s, 60s and 80s. Chris tells the stories of these mechanical icons with passion, wit and a great deal of expertise. With his own eclectic collection of restored vintage and classic vehicles, this is a subject close to his heart, and Chris actually drives or operates many of the vehicles in the series. He'll be digging out the moments of invention and engineering genius that made these machines so special, and revealing new information and stories behind all of them.
