NBD’s Emiratisation programme takes a step closer to achieving 50% UAE National workforce
National Bank of Dubai celebrated the graduation of its latest Al Mishaal trainees who successfully completed the 3 months training programme designed to help the bank achieve its strategic goal of having a 50% UAE National workforce. Graduates were presented with certificates at a ceremony held recently at the National Bank of Dubai’s headquarters.
NBD’s High School programme, Al Mishaal, provides a combination of English Language training, computer skills, classroom based banking tuition and practical on-the-job training. Al Mishaal candidates are selectively chosen by the bank for their recognizable ability and outstanding performance at their schools.
The programme, forms part of the bank’s strategy to spread and standardize best practices in the banking industry. To date, more than 100 UAE Nationals have successfully completed the course and an additional 20 are currently taking the course.

The Al Mishaal training scheme is a critical element of NBD’s Emiratisation programme which provides UAE Nationals with the opportunity to develop their skills and qualifications, which will ultimately help shape the future leaders of the country and the bank.” said Husam Al Sayed, Head of Human Resources, NBD.
As part of an ongoing programme of development and training continuously conducted by NBD among employees, the bank seeks to enhance the productivity and efficiency of its employees and has also recently launched a fully fledged training academy dedicated to develop and train UAE Nationals for a career in banking.
"Educational initiatives such as Al Mishaal enable us to achieve our objective of attracting UAE Nationals and preparing them for assuming various roles within the bank," continued Husam Al Sayed. "We are constantly searching for National talent and we will always offer the best training programmes to motivate a predominately young population to work towards a new and brighter future for the UAE."
