Nasrallah threatens to strike Tel Aviv

Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah told a visiting expatriate group he would hit Tel Aviv if Israel strikes Hizbullah’s Beirut stronghold. According to Lebanese television channel al-Jadid, Nasrallah estimated in a closed-door session that Israel would initiate a conflict with Hizbullah “sometime between the end of this year and next spring.” He continued in saying Hizbullah would attack “Tel Aviv in response to an attack on the Dahiya,” the group's stronghold south of Beirut.

Nasrallah may have likely been referring to a statement made last year by Israeli Army Northern Command chief Gabi Eisenkot who described what he called the “Dahiya doctrine,” Israel’s use of disproportional force to destroy small Lebanese villages where Hizbullah rockets were fired.
