Nashwa Al Ruwaini was among a host of businessmen, religious figures, sports personalities and artists who won an award at the yearly Shabab 20 Magazine Awards held last week at the Crowne Plaza Dubai, winning the Media Personality of the Year award at the event. Awards were given out in over 15 categories to personalities that have left a deep impact in people’s lives throughout the Arab World.
The winners in each category which included Religious Figure of the Year, Political Figure of the Year, Best Actress and Best Singer were chosen by over 75,000 voters on the Shabab 20 website and awards were given to those with the highest number of votes. Each of the honoured guests were given a Top 20 Shabab Award, presented to them by Said Al Mirri, General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of Dar Al Sada, the publishing house of Shabab 20 Magazine and Mona Qasem, Editor of Shabab 20.
In addition to Nashwa Al Ruwaini, the event several personalities including the artists Rami Ayash, Diana Haddad, Samer El-Masri and Rola Saeed, Media Personalities Jamal Matar and Lojeen Omran, Saudi businessman Makarem Betirji and Emirati Sports Personality Mohammed Al Baloushi.
Said Nashwa Al Ruwaini upon receiving the award, “I would first like thank all those who have given me their votes through the website and messages on television. This award represents a lot for me since it was by direct voting from the public, our audience who felt that I touched their lives and thus voted for me. All the work we do in media is for our audience so when they acknowledge the hard work I have put into my career in the media, this is truly a great honour. The fact that I received the highest number of voting puts me under great professional pressure and an added responsibility for me to achieve greater success. I would also like to thank the Al Sada group for this nomination and a great event and finally I congratulate all the winners in the different categories whose presence tonight proves how prestigious the awards truly are.”
The Shabab 20 Magazine was launched in 2005 and is an independent Arabic magazine published each month by Al Sada Publishing House and distributed throughout the Arab World, Europe and the USA, Canada and Australia.
