Nando's, the international Afro-Portuguese chain of restaurants and the home of the peri-peri flame grilled chicken, re-opened its restaurant at Al Ghurair City reviving the peri-peri goodness and flavor in the community. The restaurant's renovations are just one part of Nando's ambitious vision to increase its presence in the UAE. The new restaurant's stunningly enhanced ambiance and welcoming interiors have been designed to draw a much greater customer base while at the same time keeping its loyal clients coming back for more.

The Nando's at Al Ghurair was the second Nando's restaurant in UAE and the first to be launched at the then newly re-furbished Al Ghurair City. Today, there are eight Nando's outlets in the UAE; six in Dubai, one in Sharjah at Al Qasba and one in Safeer Mall at RAK. In Dubai, Nando's restaurants are located on Sheikh Zayed Road, at the Greens, in the Dubai Mall, in The Residences of Burj Khalifa, at the Arabian Center and in Al Rigga. With an ever-growing customer base of thousands of peri-peri fans, Nando's caters to their needs with a hospitable dining experience and efficient takeout and delivery services. Nando's plans to not only double its number of outlets but has also taken strategic steps to ensure existing outlets perform more effectively and increase customer turnaround.

"A great dining place is a place where people come to savor the experience and not just the food. Our customers are drawn to the magic of the Nando's Way – the magic of our chicken, our culture, our hospitality. Our success lies in continually romancing our customers so that they keep coming back for more. The renovations in the Al Ghurair Nando's were completed successfully and give the new restaurant an even stronger appeal then it had before. We are certain that we will be seeing an impressive turnover with this reopening," Suhail Gidwani, CEO Nando's UAE, said.

The previous Nando's restaurant at Al Ghurair had an old worldly charm with low ceilings, Mediterranean arches, lantern lights, family cubicles and green wood interiors. The new restaurant's interiors are a fusion of contemporary woodwork, niches in walls graced by traditional Afro-Portuguese artifacts, warm textures and fabrics, a hint of local Arabic elements, paintings splashed with the spirit and colors of vibrant modern African civilizations – all bathed in golden lights that resembles the radiant dawn. The most striking feature of the decor is the graceful olive tree poised in the center of the restaurant with seating around it, bringing to life the glorious African landscape. As always, the spirit of Nando's is alive in each of our restaurants through the hand selected eclectic mix of global music and unique features that are a mix of 15th century pieces inspired by the era's Portuguese settlers and indigenous Africans. It's like a safari into Mozambique's rich and fertile lands at the time of Johannesburg's gold mining days that saw the famous Nando's peri-peri sauce and the Nando's chain come to life.

Although Nando's encourages each branch to have an individual design, some elements remain the same in each location such as the color spectrum, heritage artwork and kitchen equipment. At Nando's we always theatrically place the grill upfront where customers can have a full view of it. This not only allows our clients to see their chicken being flame-grilled but also assures them that their meals are freshly prepared and that our kitchens are always clean.
