About 100 protesters have ransacked the offices of Libya's Muslim Brotherhood Saturday, the AFP reported.
The attack was triggered by a number of assassinations in the city of Benghazi, believed by protesters to be the work of the Muslim Brotherhood.
In Tripoli, hundreds converged Saturday after morning prayers at Martyr's Square, in the capital's center, to denounce the Benghazi assassinations.
On Friday, Abdulsalam Al-Mesmari, a leading human rights activist and lawyer, as well as vocal critic of the Islamist political organization, was shot down as he was leaving Friday prayers.
Mr Al-Masmari, who played a key role in the 2011 uprising against Colonel Gaddafi, had been planning a big rally in the eastern Libyan city on July 28. His hope was to rebuild the national army and police force, and dissolve Libyan militia, the Tripoli Post reported.
Two more people were also assassinated in Benghazi Friday, The Tripoli Post said, including Colonel Salem al-Sareh, an air force Colonel, and Colonel Khattab Younis al-Zwai, head of police in Jakhirra in southern Libya.
