Egypt's ousted President Mohamed Mursi is likely to be transferred to the same Cairo prison where former leader Hosni Mubarak is now held, Interior minister Mohamed Ibrahim told reporters Saturday.

"Most likely to Torah" prison was the Minister's reply to journalists' questions of where the deposed President would be taken, although Mr Ibrahim also noted that any decision would ultimately rest with the investigating judge.

Torah, on Cairo's outskirts, is the jail where Mubarak, members of his family and of his former cabinet have been held since Egypt's 2011 Revolution.
