Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his Libyan counterpart, Moammer Kadhafi, discussed on Wednesday in a telephone call bilateral ties between their two countries as well as the latest developments in the Middle East, reported the daily Al Gomhouriyya.
The talks focused on ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, said the paper, adding that Mubarak “informed the Libyan leader of the latest developments in the Palestinian territories.”
Meanwhile, the paper said that former Israeli president Ezra Weizman had telephoned Mubarak.
The paper said that they “discussed the deteriorating situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.”
They stressed that the escalation there would endanger the peace process, said the paper – Albawaba.com
