Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has left for Abu Dhabi for a meeting with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The president is due in Kuwait Sunday for talks with the emirate's crown prince and prime minister on the current international situation, Kuwaiti newspaper Al Siyassa reported.

Mubarak will arrive in the emirate from Abu Dhabi on a previously unannounced visit to hold "important discussions" with Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah, Al Siyassa said Saturday, quoted by AFP.

The paper said Mubarak and Sheikh Saad will discuss issues of mutual concern, chiefly international events and US-led strikes on Afghanistan.

Egypt and Kuwait has expressed its solidarity with the United States in the wake of the September 11 terror attacks.

Mubarak’s visit to the UAE is part of "ongoing consultations between the two countries about international efforts to eradicate terrorism," the UAE's official news agency said Friday without giving further details.
