The White House on Wednesday said Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has canceled his visit to the United States after his 12-year-old grandson died. According to the AP, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs conveyed Wednesday that Obama and Mubarak will instead meet next month when the American leader visits Egypt. Gibbs stated Obama and his family are offering condolences to the Mubarak family.
President Mubarak did not attend the funeral of Mohamed Alaa Hosni Mubarak in Cairo on Tuesday. "He didn't even make it to the funeral because it was too much for him," an Egyptian source told AFP.
