Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat Al Sharif briefed President Hosni Mubarak on Saturday on the recommendations made by Arab information ministers at their emergency meeting Wednesday in Cairo, the daily Al Gumhouriyyah said.
The recommendations focused on a number of immediate and medium-term political plans to activate Arab media in the internationa arena.
Sharif was quoted as saying that President Mubarak had affirmed that the Arab media should present the world with facts and address international public opinion in order to correct distorted images and confirm that Arabs are seeking a just peace.
The minister added that two follow-up commitees at the level of ministers and experts would supervise the implementation of the recommendations, including the contacts to be made to secure the necessary funds – Albawaba.com
