Kuwaiti player Rashed Fallah Al-Matayri takes third place to win bronze medal at the Kobe Osaka Karate World Championship, held in Athens, Greece on July 9th 2006.
Champion Khaled Al-Matayri fought his way through tough rounds until he finished in the third position. Kuwait was putting high hopes on Rashed to obtain an international medal and he lived up to the expectations. His tremendous capacities and wonderful talent indicate that the 15-year old will become an important karate player worldwide.
Observers of Rashed Al-Matayri’s progress during which he made huge achievements on the local and regional levels believe he has a good chance of ranking at the top for years to come. They base their opinion on Rashed Al-Matayri’s unique style, marked by flexibility and agility, distinguishing him in all the championships in which he has participated.
Although the championship has witnessed fierce competition among the best and most skilled karate players, there was broad optimism that champion Rashed Al-Matayri would attain advanced ranks, especially since preparations for this championship went perfectly well. Al-Matayri maintained this great performance and won the GCC Karate Championship for the second time but this time in Qatar. He won the Crown Prince Karate Championship and several other local championships organized by the Kuwait Karate Federation.
Fallah Al-Matayri’s achievements prompted experts to see in him the hope of drawing a smile on the faces of karate lovers.
