MEDECINS sans Frontieres (MSF) has announced a two-week awareness campaign focussing on its activities which gets under way in Dubai Saturday, Khaleej Times reported.
The campaign aims to create extensive awareness about MSF and to provide detailed information on the use of donated funds, thus ensuring greater transparency in its operations.
Marie-Christine Amestoy, Marketing Manager of MSF was quoted by the Dubai-based paper as saying that “the program is being undertaken with a view to create awareness about our work and experience in the field. We would also like donors, partners, and volunteers to feel that they can rely on us as much as we rely on them."
She added that it would also generate greater trust and faith in MSF, by demonstrating where and how all donations received by the organization are spent.
"We aim to provide quality customer service of the highest order. The staff at our offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are available to answer questions six days a week. We also have a quarterly newsletter Embrace, which regularly provides updated information," she said.
The venue for the campaign will include shopping centers, including Choithram Supermarkets and Spinneys outlets, and leaflets, billboards and advertisements in magazine will be used.
The campaign will move to Abu Dhabi with talks presently under way to focus on the Abu Dhabi Mall, the Marina Mall and the Madinat Zayed Shopping Center, as possible venues in the capital.
Early in November, UAE and MSF launched a joint campaign through which they forwarded an emergency appeal to collect money to fund a number of projects for the Afghan refugees who gathered at the borders of Afghanistan with Iran and Pakistan – Albawaba.com
