MSCI GCC Countries Indices – June Performance Summary

In January 2006, MSCI Barra launched the first family of equity indices from an international index provider for the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.This Performance Summary is designed to provide a quick and easy overview of the performance of the MSCI GCC Countries Indices. Performance in Local Currency

 


§The MSCI GCC Countries Index returned 9.63% over the one month period to 30 June, 2006

§Over the same time frame the MSCI World Index returned 0.36% and the MSCI Emerging Markets Index returned -0.16%

Indices calculated in local currency with dividends reinvested and rebased to 100.

 

Performance of individual GCC countries during the one month period to June 30, 2006

§MSCI Saudi Arabia Index delivered the strongest performance with a return of 21.09%

§The weakest performance was from the MSCI UAE Indexwhich returned -9.23%
