Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that the US officials should adopt a factual stands in dealing with Iran's nuclear program and "sincerely confess to their mistakes." According to IRNA, Mottaki also advised the US officials to tell the true to their own nation regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear activities.

According to the Information and Press Bureau of Foreign Ministry, Mottaki made the remarks in a meeting with foreign ambassadors residing in Iran.

Referring to Iran's nuclear activities, he said since fossil fuel will be depleted, Iran has no other alternative but to find access to a clear source of energy to meet its domestic demands and based on Majlis ratification, the government is obliged to generate 20,000 megawatts of electricity from its nuclear power plants. "Since a number of countries such as the US are opposed to our scientific and technical progress, they try to throw obstacles on our path," Iran's top diplomat said.

"To prove our sincerity in our interaction with IAEA, about eight months ago we draw up a Modality Plan to answer all questions raised by IAEA on peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities," Mottaki said.
