Urging regional telecoms operators to alter their perspective, Motorola this week advocated a renewed focus on enhanced subscriber experience, such as greater personalization and access to new applications, which will help operators increase subscriber loyalty and revenues in an increasingly competitive environment.
At the Connect International Telecoms Summit Conference taking place in Dubai from 24 – 27 June, Bilal Saleh, Director, Application Services, Motorola Networks & Enterprise for Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and Latin America/Caribbean (LAC), advised telecoms operators in the region on how to combine mobility with the strength of Internet-based communities for a personalized end-user experience.
“The Internet is evolving from a repository for documents to a transaction-based service environment, driven by innovation and speed, to pay bills, chat with friends, purchase music, watch TV and so on. Motorola is working with service providers to capitalize on the Internet’s responsive and pioneering culture to deliver a new range of services and encourage community-based applications that stimulate loyalty. The power of the Internet can also be harnessed to stimulate usage of mobile services and increase customer loyalty through offering new applications on an ongoing basis,” said Motorola’s Saleh.
As part of his presentation, Saleh discussed several ways that telecoms operators can improve the experience for subscribers in the Middle East, and highlighted the potential of ‘mash-ups’ – combining existing applications, such as blogging and photo, to create new ones, quickly and efficiently.
“Telecoms operators in the region will miss out on both a customer service and a revenue opportunity if they don’t deploy new applications that bring more context to communications – understanding users’ preferences, habits, and relationships to create a more rich and ‘sticky’ offering that helps build customer loyalty in this competitive regional environment,” he added.
