The Moroccan government welcomed Wednesday night the United Nations Security Council's unanimous recommendation on the Sahara dispute. According to KUNA, the Moroccan news agency quoted a government spokesman as saying that the recommendation underlines the international community's support for a negotiable settlement over the fabricated dispute.
In addition, he said, the Security Council stressed its strong support for the efforts made by United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan and his personal envoy James Baker to reach a peaceful solution for the old dispute.
He added that Rabat has been exerting great efforts for over 25 years to end this dispute. (Albawaba.com)
