Morocco: Over 100 killed and wounded as mosque minaret collapsed

At least 38 worshippers died and 71 other were injured when four centuries-old mosque minaret collapsed in Morocco on Friday. The Lalla Khenata mosque minaret collapsed in the old Bab el Bardiyine neighbourhood of Meknes, which is located about 140 km southwest of Rabat.


There have been mixed reports regarding the number of people killed in the incident. According to some reports, the number of worshippers who were killed was 40. Meanwhile, the Moroccan news agency reported that 26 people were killed.
