The Moroccan security has dismantled over 400 human trafficking Websites, which used to smuggle in illegal emigrants to Europe, the Moroccan foreign department said.
The minister of civil service and administrative reform said that between January 1st and June 30, 2000, some 35,000 people were arrested, while trying to enter Europe illegally.
The minister quoted by Morocco’s news agency MAP as saying that around 15,000 of these illegal immigrants came from Asian and African countries.
The official stressed that addressing the problem needs a comprehensive approach that tackles the problem’s root cause, calling on the European Union and north Mediterranean countries to cooperate with Morocco in this issue through co-development actions and encouraging investments, the agency said – Albawaba.com
