Morocco celebrated on Monday the 47th anniversary of its independence from France.
On this day, 47 years ago, the late King Mohammed V, grand father of King Mohammed VI, announced the independence of Morocco from French occupation, which lasted since 1912.
The independence was the “fruit of a long struggle waged by the Moroccan people under the leadership of the late King Mohammed V”, the official MAP news agency reported Monday. (Albawaba.com)
