Morocco’s King Mohammed VI held talks Wednesday with his Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade on bilateral ties, reported the official Maghrebe Arab Presse (MAP).
The Moroccan king arrived in Dakar on Tuesday for a two-day visit, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields. “Talks between the two leaders were held in extraordinary climate,” said Senegalese Foreign Minister Cheikh Tidiane Cadio.
He added that they covered the “trans-Saharan road project and bilateral cooperation in matters of telecommunication and electricity.”
Morocco has conducted several technical studies on the trans-Saharan road project that will integrate the Rosso bridge to be constructed over the Senegal river, at the Senegalese-Mauritanian borders, Cadio said.
Trade exchanges and many other projects, such as the establishment of a Senegalese-Moroccan bank and Morocco’s participation in large-scale projects (Dakar airport) in Senegal were also brought up during the meeting, the minister said -- Albawaba.com
