Fifteen people were killed following midday prayers at a Shiite Muslim religious hall in Baghdad on Tuesday. According to the AFP, the deadly attack was carried out by two suicide bombers.
At least 30 others were wounded, the interior ministry said. The assault took place at Babib ibn al-Mudhaher hussiniyah, or in the capital's northern Qahira neighborhood.
One bomber blew himself up near the entrance hall while the second attacker ran through the ensuing chaos and detonated himself and his explosives, officials said.

Six people were also killed in the Salaheddin province near Baghdad.
The month of May has been the deadliest month in Iraq since 2008.
According to the AFP, “Analysts say a lack of effort by the Shiite-led authorities to address the underlying causes of the demonstrations has given militant groups fuel and room to manoeuvre to carry out their activities.”
