MobileAccess, a leading provider of enterprise wireless solutions and the first to market modular multi-service in-building wireless platforms, has announced that it has partnered with Australia-based Enersus, a value added reseller and system integrator specializing in cellular; Wi-Fi; WiMAX; and Voice over Internet Protocol solutions, to deploy the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network at key Australian facilities. MobileAccess systems will enable seamless integration of various wireless platforms such as the predominant Global System for Mobile Communications, the emerging 3G standard, and future technologies such as 4G.
The partnership, part of MobileAccess’ initiatives to broaden its international business and meet growing global demand for its Universal Wireless solution, has resulted in deployments at Chatswood Mall, Tullamarine Airport, and the Parramatta Justice Precinct. These systems currently provide seamless access to various mobile communications services within the facilities without the need for expensive infrastructure development.

Enersus deployed the Universal Wireless solution at the Tullamarine Airport in Melbourne to overcome radio frequency signal and voice and data coverage interference caused by the 250,000-sqare-foot facility’s heavy construction materials. The resulting wireless system, which did not require additional wiring or cause disruptions during upgrades, now provides state-of-the-art communications throughout the airport, supporting 3G 850 and GSM900 technologies over a single network and is easily adaptable to multiple carriers and future 4G wireless technologies.
MobileAccess technology has also been integrated into the Parramatta Justice Precinct, which includes the new Children’s Court, the Trial Courts and the Attorney General’s Office for New South Wales, in response to a Property Council of Australia mandate that mobile coverage be available within the buildings. Enersus designed a MobileAccess solution that allows any mobile operator to provide multiple wireless services over one infrastructure, while also overcoming the additional wireless coverage hurdles resulting from the precinct’s five-star, green-rated construction. The network is now fully integrated and covers the three major buildings.
Westfield Chatswood, a premier shopping and entertainment center in the heart of downtown Sydney which includes nine cinemas, 45 dining options, and 326 retail stores, also uses the MobileAccess solution as recommended by Enersus. The system was chosen for its ability to deliver multiple wireless services to various constituents such as visitors; employees; and first responders; while maintaining the scalable performance required in large, complex structures.
