Ministry of Economy discusses preparations of UAE- Algerian Economic Committee meeting


Mr Mohamed Saleh Shalouh, Acting Executive Director of Economic Policy Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, today chaired a meeting to discuss preparations for the UAE – Algerian Common Economic Committee.

The meeting, which was held at the Ministry headquarters in Abu Dhabi, was attended by representatives from UAE Ministries, Economic Departments and private sector institutions.

Participants discussed the agenda of the seventh session of the Joint UAE- Algerian Economic Committee to be held in Abu Dhabi on May 21 and 22. They also agreed on the topics that the UAE will raise during the joint committee meeting.

These topics include cooperation in various fields including trade, industry, investment and development projects, specifications and standards, as well as technical and functional sectors.

Mr Mohammed Shalouh, Executive Director of Economic Policy Affairs, highlighted the importance of such meetings to coordinate the activities of various governmental institutions and the private sector, to prioritise the topics that are to be highlighted at the Committee meeting.

He said the meeting will help to implement the strategic objectives of the Ministry and will enhance coordination between government departments and the private sector.

The UAE-Algerian relations have strengthened considerably in the past years. Both countries are now looking to enhance the level of cooperation at the highest levels.
