The Ministry for Development of Governmental Sector signed today (Wednesday, February 13, 2008) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority to enhance mutual cooperation in laying down more opportunities for UAE nationals to get employed within the federal government departments. H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Obood, General Manager, Ministry for Development of Governmental Sector and Feddah Lootah, Acting General Manager in Tanmia signed the MoU in the presence of His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Development for the Governmental Sector and H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka’abi, UAE Minister of Labour and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Tanmia.
According to the MoU, Tanmia will extend its total support to the Ministry by developing strategies and policies that will maximise job opportunities for UAE Nationals in government departments across the country. Tanmia will provide the Ministry with access to its database of registered jobseekers, to enable the Ministry to choose the most suitable candidates for the available government jobs and provide them the required training.
The two parties will also cooperate with each other to jointly organise special training programs and seminars aimed at equipping the UAE National jobseekers with the necessary skill sets that will allow them to perform to their potential at the workplace. Further, Tanmia, through its Center for Employment and Development Skills will complement the Ministry’s efforts by providing registration assistance for various human resource development programs it undertakes.
H.E. Al Mansouri said: “Increasing opportunities for UAE nationals to get employed within the Governmental sector is a top priority in our strategic plans. Further more, it’s a key component in the quest to achieve excellence in the deliverables and procedures of all federal governmental sector bodies. To this end, we will further more utilize all resources to attract more nationals to governmental sector”.
Commenting on the MoU, H.E. Dr Ali Al Ka’abi said, “Tanmia and the Ministry of Development for the Government Sector share certain common goals with regard to the development of National human resources. This agreement with the Ministry will open up new avenues of employment for UAE Nationals in the federal government departments. In the coming months, Tanmia and the Ministry will work together to provide training to jobseekers registered in our database, which will help them hone their skills required to efficiently handle the challenges and responsibilities at the workplace.”
Feddah Lootah said, “UAE Nationals have proven their skill and ability in all kinds of jobs available in the government or private sectors. This MoU will result in the gainful employment of UAE job seekers.
H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Obood said, “We are pleased to sign this MoU with Tanmia as it will give us an opportunity to leverage the employment authority’s vast experience and resources. We believe this will be a mutually beneficial relationship, with several new job opportunities being offered to Nationals registered with Tanmia.”
