Syria's Minister of Health on Monday said his country is exerting efforts to prevent HIV transfer to patients via blood.
Speaking to Fighting –AIDS National Programs Directors 14th Meeting in Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Iyad Shatti stressed the need to intensify efforts over preventive measures to fight the AIDS and to increase its effectiveness as to contain the epidemic.
"Syria and the UAE have made a big progress that can be an example in the field of precautionary actions especially in the blood transfer and test domain, although it is an expensive operation," the Minister said, according to SANA.
