Abdulsalam Al Bahar, Chairman and Managing Director of Wataniya Airways, said: “Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Communications, Dr. Mohammed Al Busairi for joining us in our celebrations in opening our luxurious Premium Economy lounge.
“We are extremely proud of the results we have achieved since the Wataniya Airways’ launch in January 2009. Extending our Premium Economy lounge is a reflection of the increased number of daily flights to our twelve Middle East and European destinations and the high demand we have been seen on our routes. The new lounge will allow us to deliver better service to our Premium Economy guests as well as allow us to expand our operations in transferring passengers to other Wataniya Airways destinations via Kuwait. The new expansion is a further commitment to our guests in offering high quality services and a memorable and pleasurable travel experience.”
Sheikh Saad Terminal is the first of its kind in Kuwait and one of the country’s landmark projects. Completed in May 2008, it is fully equipped to handle all types of private and commercial aircraft as well as providing the highest possible levels of service and comfort to passengers using the facility. Wataniya Airways is the only commercial airline with permission to use the terminal as its permanent point of departure and return to Kuwait. Guests travelling on Wataniya Airways enjoy the incredible amenities offered in the terminal, from valet parking and personalized service, to free Wi-Fi internet connection enjoyed in both its First Class and Premium Economy lounges as well as shopping facilities and cafes. The new Premium Economy lounge reconfirms Wataniya
Airways’ quality promise to its guests, with a new kids area, quiet lounge, restaurant, smoking and business areas.
The terminal was named in honour of H.H. the late Amir Sheikh Saad AlAbdullah AlSalem AlSabah and is a tribute to a man who was renowned for his kindness and generosity, his boundless energy and tireless efforts to help Kuwait develop and prosper.
